So here we are, just a few days shy of the two month mark of when the new iPad was released by Apple. Much of the fanfare has died down and Apple sold some 11.8 million iPads in the last quarter – up 158% over the same quarter a year ago. So there are plenty of the new iPad out there and I suspect many of you reading AlliOSNews already have on in your hot little hands.
So is it all that? The big features touted in the new iPad were the Retina display, improved processor and camera and LTE support here in the US (sorry Australia). But has it been everything you expected?
Let me hear your thoughts. Answer the poll below and leave a comment to let me know what you think. Next Monday, May 7th I will pick one winner who will receive a $20 iTunes Gift Card. To be eligible you must vote and leave a comment which includes your first name and/or Twitter handle so I can notify you if you win. Good Luck & thanks for voting!
Remember, to leave a comment you will need to click on the headline and go to the poll page!
[Update] – Congratulations to Trisha Stream! You won a $20 iTunes Gift Card for your vote!
As I was getting updates to apps in iTunes this morning, I took a glance down and notice that I have 560 apps in my iTunes Library. That got me to thinking: When did I get all of these apps? I don’t remember downloading that many apps. But I think that is really the point right? Developers – and Apple – want the buying experience so simple, so amazingly easy to do that you don’t remember dropping that .99 Cents here or there.
Clearly, in my case, it is effective.
So what about you? How many apps do you have in your iTunes library? A few dozen? Hundreds? Thousands?
As 2011 starts to wind down it’s time to look back and reflect on the apps that made our iPhones and iPads all-the-better during the year. Over the course of the next several days I’ll be posting multiple polls asking what your favorite app is in a particular category. I’m starting with News apps. There have been several new ones in 2011, most notably The Daily being an iPad-exclusive daily newspaper. There have been others though including a completely revamped Pulse and CNN apps and who can leave out the news aggregator app Flipboard.
So which is best?
Vote below and if your favorite app isn’t listed just leave a comment below of what you think is the best News app of 2011.

So the question of the day: What do you think of iOS 5?
