The Official F1 app for iOS has been updated with a new feature that allows you to hear team radio during a race on demand. The update is just the latest for the app which has continually improved over the course of the 2014 season.
If you haven’t been paying attention, let me you in on a little secret.
Yahoo! is back and they have some great apps.
The company than many – including me – wrote off as dead just two years ago has come back with a vengeance, focusing on apps and services that continue to impress. The latest update to Yahoo Sports is another fine example.
The update, released today, brings an all new iOS 7 look & feel to the app that brings you not only new and information about US centric sports but worldwide sports information.
One of the best new features of Yahoo Sports is the new Loops feature. Think of it as an animated GIF that allows you
to add captions, effect and comments to a moment in a game. While it is only available on select games on iPhone and best experienced with WiFi, the Loops feature gives you the creativity to create your own highlight of the game.
Other improvements and features include:
- Clean, beautiful redesign for iOS7 with dozens of new features and improvements. If Brady and Gisele made a sports app, it might not be as good looking as this.
- New team and player pages with cover photos and easy access to the latest news.
- Improved football scores page with redzone and scoring play indicators.
- Personalize your league nav in the order you want with the leagues you want. You’ll never have to look at [insert sport you don’t like] again!
- Fixed a bunch of bugs and a few crashes. Sorry those were there in the first place.
Yahoo Sports is a free app and it is a universal app for both iPhone and iPad. This new update requires that your device be running iOS 7.0 or later.
With the 2013 Major League Baseball season only weeks away, the league has just updated their iOS universal app MLB At Bat for the 2013 season. The update brings all of the latest news, information and updates from around the league now in Spring Training as well as the upcoming regular season and playoffs. 2013 marks my 3rd season of using the MLB At Bat app and I have every intention of doing so even though I now live in England. It is the definitive sports app. Period.
While the latest release of MLB At Bat is focused on the 2013 season, there is a good list of updates and improvements in the app. The Release Notes for version 6.0.0 highlights some of those changes and improvements.

The improvements and features of this app improve each year and the 2013 version is no exception.
Now through the end of New Years Day you can get the 2013 version for only $25.99, a savings of $10 off the normal price. That purchase gets you live coverage of all 19 races for the 2013 season along with some other great features:

Who’s Your Caddy, a free, cutting edge golf mobile application, is about to change the way golfers, golf courses, and advertisers view mobile apps. Not just another golf app, this mobile app is the first of its kind. A win-win-win for all parties involved: golfers, golf courses, and advertisers.
Who’s Your Caddy, created by parent company Red Mat Media, will be available in early April on iTunes, and by May 1 for Androids. Three key features set this product apart from other golf apps. First, Who’s Your Caddy is a Free mobile app for both the golfer and the golf courses.
“Other golf apps can charge the course to be on the app. With Who’s Your Caddy, not only does the course not pay a cent for the app, it can also make revenue from it with our revenue share program. We create partnerships with golf courses and users, no other golf app can say that,” said Timothy Lyon, CEO of the parent company of Who’s Your Caddy, Red Mat Media.
Secondly, Who’s Your Caddy serves up “Gimmes” to its golfers. Gimmes are free gifts from businesses in the golfer’s neighborhood, such as a gift certificate to a restaurant. Golfers will be alerted of their free Gimme via a text while they are using their WYC unit during golf.
i’m Apps today announces a major update to their Sports App, EZ Capture Pro@golf swing 3.0, that allows golfers to capture their swing automatically with Master/Slave Dual Camera support and instant playback in dual-view. It also supports multi-view analysis by using drawing tools provided and video export in slow motion. New features also include 3 kinds of Stop Capture options, Voice-Over commentary and Branding, which bring a whole new iPad experience to golfers on swing capture and analysis. Of all iOS golf apps, EZ Capture Pro@golf swing is the only app that exports the golfer’s swing in slow motion with analysis overlays, and it is the only app that offers Dual Camera support.
Golfers position the iPad on a tripod or stand at the desired position, and launching the app in landscape orientation automatically begins capture. Following the swing, the app stops capture using either impact sound detection and image analysis, sound detection alone, or manual control. The app will intelligently delete unnecessary video and immediately play back the perfectly trimmed video clip in real time. Automatic capture begins again, and the same process repeats itself, producing perfect video clips of individual golf swings without any extraneous video before or after.
Golfers can draw lines, circles, and rectangles of various colors over the swing video, which can be deleted at any time. When analyzing swings, these guides can be invaluable. For example, a golfer could draw a red circle around his head to observe easily his head position throughout the swing. With these overlays, golfers can easily discover the strengths and weaknesses in their swing.
After drawing, video can be exported to the Camera Roll in slow motion, as an individual frame, or a slow motion video with overlay. The app accommodates golf professionals who may want to add voice-over instruction and a graphic logo to the video.
