F-Sim Space Shuttle Update Brings Video Saving for Sharing
While the United States Space Shuttle fleet may be retired, you can still relive the challenge of landing the craft in F-Sim Space Shuttle. The flight simulator allows you to fly the Space Shuttle from de-orbit to landing at either Edwards Air Force Base or Kennedy Space Center by using the gyroscope in your iPhone or iPad. It is one of the more challenging simulators you will face and also one of the most beautiful.
With the latest update to the simulator, you now have the ability to save and record your replays within the game. This
allows you in turn to share them via email, messaging, YouTube or import the video into an editing app such as iMove. Depending on your device, the video can be rendered as high as 1080P so it is not compromising quality for functionality.
In order to record the videos you must be running at least iOS 5 on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. For 1080P level of recordings, you will need to be using an iPhone 4S or 5, iPad 2nd Generation or newer and iPod Touch 5th Generation or newer.
F-Sim Space Shuttle is $4.99 in the App Store and it is a universal app for iOS devices. As always the update is free for current owners of the app.

Original Angry Birds Now Free in The App Store
If you are one of the few people on the planet who haven’t purchased Angry Birds then today is your lucky day! The original version of the game is now free in the App Store. The change came over the weekend and covers both the iPhone version as well as the iPad HD version of the game.
Angry Birds made its debut in December 2009 and has been purchased over 12 million times by Apple iPhone, iPod Touch
and iPad owners since that time. There have been many spinoffs of the game including Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars but the original is, well, kinda a classic now.
The only change from the original release back in 2009 is the addition of Power Ups, a feature that made its debut in one of the updates of 2011 to the game. All of the original levels are there though and nothing has been left out.
Equally as important, this is NOT a lite version or an ad supported version of the game. It is the original now free. This is different than some games which have moved to a “freemium” model instead of pay games and are ad supported and you get to pay-to-play.
If you missed out on all the fun, use the links below to download your copy to your iOS device today. After you play a few rounds, you’ll understand why Angry Birds is so popular – and so addictive.

Real Racing 3 – The Ultimate Racing Game for Any Platform [Review]
Real Racing 3, one of the most anticipated game releases for iOS for some time, has finally hit the App Store for download. The photorealistic tracks and cars are real courses, brands and models respectively, making this version of Real Racing the most realistic racing game for iOS available. Having been a long time racing game player on Xbox – F1 2012, Forza, etc – Real Racing 3 in many ways is better than a console game purely from a graphics perspective.
Interestingly, Electronic Arts has made Real Racing 3 a “Freemium” game meaning that the game itself is free but there are limitations in the game which you have to make in-app purchases to get around those limitations. This model is nothing new – most of the top games in the App Store have this exact same model and, having played Real Racing 3 for a few hours now you can do a lot of racing without making a single in-app purchase. But you have to be patience for things like repair times or when a car can become available after you purchase it, etc.
Let’s start with the basics: Real Racing 3 is a whopping 750MB download. Yes, all those pretty graphics come at a price, namely storage space on your iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini or iPod Touch. EA recommends that you have at least 2GB free space on your device to play the game as it will need to do a lot of graphics caching to work properly (i.e. frame rates). You will have to download it via iTunes or via WiFi from your device directly. The game is supported on the iPhone 4, 4S and 5, iPad 2, iPad 3rd & 4th generation, iPod Touch 4th and 5th generation, and iPad Mini. The afore in-app purchases range in price from $1.99 to $19.99.
Racing Circuits of Real Racing 3
One of the big changes to Real Racing 3 over previous versions of the game is the inclusion of real racing circuits. These race tracks include some of the most famous from around the world and the FireMonkey development team of EA spent hundreds of hours at the actual tracks to get the details right. That work paid off – for you. Now you can race on circuits such as Mazda Raceway Leguna Seca (USA), Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), Silverstone (England), Indianpolis Motor Speedway (USA), Suzuki Circuit (Japan) and Hockenheimring (Germany) just to name a few. Having these real course pulls you even further into the racing experience where you get to figure out how to control the car through the almighty
Eau Rouge turn at Spa for example. If you are a Formula 1 fan, ALMS or World Endurance fan, you will smile when you get to race around one of these circuits.
The work the FireMonkey team put into getting these circuits accurate is evident the first lap you turn at them. The textures of the circuits are superb and the surrounding backgrounds of the circuits are accurate to the finest level. Once you see one of the tracks you will quickly figure out where the bulk of the 750MB download came from on the install. But it is worth it.
There are other little detailed improvements to the game like a working rear view mirror in the cars. This is thanks to the Mint 3 Engine that is being used to render the graphics being able to keep up with the game play.
Jurassic Park Builder Update Brings New Levels to Your Own Dinosaur Park
Ludia, the developer behind Jurassic Park Builder for iOS, has just released a significant update to the dinosaur park building game in the App Store. The update brings a wide range of updates and improvements including new levels and new ways to build your own park.
As the name suggests, Jurassic Park Builder is a game loosely based on the movie series where you have to build your own dinosaur park and deal with the challenges of doing so – from raging dino’s to people getting lost. It’s quite addictive and remains one of my favourite strategy/builder games. You can read my review here. A couple of updates ago the
underwater park was added to the game so you can now build your park both on land and under the sea, complete with prehistoric sea creatures. This update expands on that and offers new creatures to collect and display in your park.
The release notes for the update cover most of the improvements, fixes or updates to the game:
- Experience new land and aquatic based missions with all your favorite characters from the Jurassic Park universe.
- Challenge yourself by reaching Level 50 in the game.
- All new sea creatures for you to discover and collect.
- Brand new underwater decorations to embellish your park.
- New aquatic buildings giving you more options to collect coins.
- Economy improvements for evolving your dinosaurs and embarking on expeditions.
- Various bug fixes have been implemented.
- Many performance issues should be resolved.
Jurassic Park Builder is a free game and it is a universal app for iPhone,iPod Touch, iPad and iPad Mini. There are a wide range of in-app purchases available ranging in price from $1.99 to $99.99. Having played the game for many months now you will likely need to make an in-app purchase to get to a next level. In total I have spent about $15 on the game in the last 6 months. My son however has been playing the same amount of time and has only spent $5 and is at the same level- clearly a better player than me.
My point is to be prepared to spend a little.

YOU DON’T KNOW JACK Brings Celebrity Guests to Gameplay
YOU DON’T KNOW JACK®, the multimillion-selling interactive trivia franchise, today introduced a title update for the iOS and Facebook apps featuring monthly celebrity guest appearances within the free-to-play game.
The first celebrity guest episode, featuring actor Rich Sommer from AMC’s award-winning drama Mad Men, is available for free play now on the Facebook and iOS versions of the game as well as YOU DON’T KNOW JACK for Android, which will launch soon. Jellyvision Games has also announced that the next guest episode will feature Adrianne Curry, winner of the inaugural season of the reality television series America’s Next Top Model. Additional celebrity episodes are planned on a monthly basis.
“Introducing celebrities into the world of YOU DON’T KNOW JACK was a great way to take advantage of the game’s
interactivity and asynchronous gameplay. It was kind of a no-brainer for us,” said Mike Bilder, General Manager of Jellyvision Games. “Plus, our host Cookie Masterson has been getting very lonely and we became convinced that we needed to get him some level of basic human contact.”
With this new feature, players choosing a special celebrity guest episode from a new featured episodes tab are automatically matched up against the celebrity and any other friends who have played the episode. Through the game’s asynchronous multiplayer mechanic, each celebrity’s actions in the game have been captured as well as their voice, so that the player is matched against the celebrity as if they were playing in real time.
For players of YOU DON’T KNOW JACK for iOS, a title update is required in order to access the new guest episodes. This functionality has already been updated for the Facebook and the soon-to-release Android versions, so players on those platforms can play the new Rich Sommer episode right now.
The social version of YOU DON’T KNOW JACK, first launched on Facebook in May 2012, has been received with great critical acclaim including winning the “Best Social Game” category for the 2012 SPIKE TV Video Game Awards and being named one of the best 12 games on Facebook by Kotaku. To date, there have been 2.3 million installs of the social apps on Facebook and iOS.
YOU DON’T KNOW JACK is a free game with In-App purchases available ranging from $1.99 to $49.99. It is a universal app for both iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Temple Run 2 Hits 20 Million Downloads in its first week
There are popular games then there is Temple Run 2. The highly stylised sequel to Temple Run high the 20 million download mark in just its first week. That’s an astonishing number considering that the app was officially released on January 17th. While it is no where near the 170 million downloads that the original Temple Run has seen, clearly the springboard has been loaded for the sequel to pass the original.
In the Press Release that Imangi Studios posted yesterday, they highlight some amazing numbers for Temple Run 2.
In under one week, Temple Run 2 has accumulated over 210 million sessions, which garners a combined time of over 1,775 years of gameplay.
Temple Run 2 is far more challenging than the original Temple Run with twisting running trails, new obstacles and of
course new rewards for success. The object of the game however remains the same: Run, jump and slide as far as you can, collecting as many coins as you can before falling or being caught by the mutant ape running behind you. Sounds simple but get ready for an addictive and challenging game! In this sequel you can also collect gems which help you make purchases within the app and level up your character. Like the original there are power-ups throughout the game that allow you to be invisible, give you boost speed when running or become a coin magnet. If you have played Temple Run you will find Temple Run 2 more challenging but also much more visually appealing. The Imangi Studios team have done a great of rendering in this game.
Temple Run 2 is a free download and is a universal app for both iPhone and iPad. There are several In-App purchases available that range from .99 Cents to $19.99 each. In-App purchases are not required to play Temple Run 2 but they do help you get further into the game faster.
